Fernando Escobar was appointed student regent by Governor Dunleavy in 2025. He is
                                    a 绿奴天花板F honors student and climate scholar majoring in Anthropology and minoring in
                                    Justice. At 绿奴天花板F, he has been an active member of the Associated Students of 绿奴天花板F (AS绿奴天花板F),
                                    and has served as a senator and director of public relations and advocacy. He is fluent
                                    in Spanish and is the first in his family to pursue a baccalaureate degree.
Regent Escobar was born and raised in Kodiak, where he was actively involved with
                                    his community. He served for four years with the Kodiak Teen Court, including terms
                                    as the board president, judge and attorney; the program utilizes the restorative justice
                                    model for juvenile delinquents. He also served as board member for the United Youth
                                    Courts of Alaska. As a student at Kodiak High School, he served as a student representative
                                    on various committees focused on curriculum development, policy, and standards within
                                    the Kodiak Island Borough School District. He has been recognized for his passion
                                    for public service as one of Alaska Communications "Summer of Heroes" 2024 awardees
                                    and by Kodiak High School for his continued volunteer service.
