Now accepting nominations for the 2027 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence

 The University of Alaska Foundation Board of Directors is accepting nominations for the 2027 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence through Dec. 1, 2026. 

Award Significance
The prize is presented annually to an individual who demonstrates excellence in furthering the University of Alaska’s mission. Thanks to the generosity of Edith R. Bullock, the recipient will receive a $20,000 cash award, in addition to a plaque and recognition at a special reception hosted by the ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å Foundation Board of Directors.

Who is eligible to nominate or be nominated? 
Anyone can nominate a deserving candidate. A candidate can be a student, faculty or staff member, alum or volunteer who has made a significant contribution to further the University of Alaska’s mission of inspiring learning, and advancing and disseminating knowledge through teaching, research and public service.

Information about the prize and the nomination process is available on the ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å Foundation Awards webpage. Nominations are being accepted via an . Any nominations received after Dec. 1, 2026, will be eligible for consideration for the 2028 award.  

The Generosity of Edith R. Bullock
The was , whose 30 years of service to the ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å system included service on the ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å Board of Regents and the ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å Foundation Board of Directors. Bullock was also a member of Alaska’s Territorial House of Representatives, Territorial Senate, Alaska Business Hall of Fame and an Alaskan of the Year.
