The interactive session covers the retirement process, Voluntary Savings Plan, eligibility, vesting, service and benefit calculations, early and normal retirement, increasing service credit, survivor options, retiree insurance options, after retirement increases and the timing of benefits.

Which sponsor should I meet with?
- TIAA and Fidelity
Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) | ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å Pension Plan | Voluntary 403(b) | Voluntary 457(b)
TIAA and Fidelity work with both the ORP and the ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å Pension Plan. Additionally, employees can have a voluntary 403(b) with one (or both) of these vendors and executives can have a voluntary 457(b) with TIAA. Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and Teachers Retirement System (TRS)
The Division of Retirement and Benefits (DRB) manages both the PERS and TRS retirement plans.

If you are unsure what retirement plan you are in, login in to > "Employee Dashboard "> "Benefits" > "Current Summary" > "Select." You can also reach out to the benefits team at (907) 450-8242, ua-benefits@alaska.edu, or schedule a one-on-one.

There are limited time slots for in-person advising. We are planning to do additional in-person advising in 2026 pending demand and attendance. If you are unable to sign up for an in-person event and would like to meet with an advisor, you may do so virtually.
