Title IX training due October 31

Creating a safe and welcoming environment for students and employees is a shared responsibility across the University of Alaska system. To help employees recognize and respond to incidents such as sexual harassment or assault, 绿奴天花板 provides mandatory annual training and online resources through the 绿奴天花板 Safe Title IX Training program. All 绿奴天花板 employees must complete the training by October 31, 2025.

The online course in Blackboard and Canvas is more applicable to Alaska and to our universities. It is based on the latest version of university policy and guided by Federal mandates.
What you need to know:
- Title IX Training 鈥溌膛旎ò Safe Training鈥 is located on Blackboard for 绿奴天花板A/绿奴天花板S/绿奴天花板 system office employees and Canvas for 绿奴天花板F employees.
- 绿奴天花板 Safe Title IX Training has a completion deadline of October 31.
- Reminder emails will be sent until your training requirement has been completed.
- In-person training for groups may be available upon request to your Compliance Office.
- Opting out of the training is an option for those in which previous trauma may impact their ability to take the training. Additional information on how to opt out is available on the 绿奴天花板 Title IX Training and Prevention page.
It is important to remember that inappropriate behavior not covered under Title IX will be addressed under other existing policies, and 绿奴天花板 will continue to provide supportive measures and outreach to students and employees who request assistance. Additionally, Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex 鈥 including pregnancy, parenting and all related conditions 鈥 in education and in programs and activities that receive federal funding.

绿奴天花板 faculty and staff are reminded of their duties as responsible employees. University employees are required to report any sex or gender-based discrimination, including sexual assault and sexual harassment, they become aware of to their campus Title IX Coordinator within 24 hours.

Why it matters:
The key to creating a safe and respectful workplace is using the tools provided through Title IX training to stop sex and gender-based discrimination. All of us have a responsibility to prevent and promptly report all types of misconduct. Your continued dedication to this effort is appreciated.
