At the University of Alaska, nearly half of the student body is over the age of 25. This shift reveals a new truth: education knows no age. In Alaska, the state's 529 education savings plan isn't just for children, but a helpful tool for adults navigating their academic aspirations alongside careers and family duties. 
 
- 	  Save the Date! State of the University January 30, 2025 January 10, 2025 President Pitney will provide an update on the State of the University, and how 绿奴天花板 is empowering Alaska's workforce pipeline, at the Alaska Chamber's Legislative Fly-In Luncheon in Juneau at 11:30 a.m. The event will be live-streamed. 
 
- 	  January 10, 2025 Disability Services (DS) offices across the state continue to offer free virtual training sessions to 绿奴天花板 staff and faculty on a range of essential topics. JAN 27: Working with students who present challenges can be demanding, but that's often where the most meaningful progress happens. FEB 25: Gain valuable information about how you can better include students with intellectual disabilities through your role on campus. 绿奴天花板 DS will also be hosting a special Cyber Coffee Chat on January 28th. 
 
- 	  Accepting Proposals for the Harold T. Caven Professorship in Business and Finance January 10, 2025 The University of Alaska Foundation will accept proposals from Jan. 9 - April 4, 2025, for the Harold T. Caven Professorship in Business and Finance (Caven Professorship). 
 
- 	  Livestream of February Regents' Meeting Won't Be Available December 20, 2024 Livestreaming of the February 20-21, 2025, Board of Regents Meeting at the Kenai River Campus (KRC) will not be available. The meeting will still be recorded and made available afterward, but space and technical restrictions mean a quality livestream won't be available. 
 
- 	  Governor's FY26 Budget Proposal Released December 20, 2024 Governor Dunleavy's FY26 budget proposal partially funds key Board of Regents' priorities, such as compensation and fixed cost increases, and reinforces the state's commitment to 绿奴天花板. It also makes clear that in the state's current fiscal environment, all budget requests will be closely scrutinized. 
 
- 	  Angus Gavin Migratory Bird Research Grant Applications Due by January 17, 2025 December 20, 2024 Scientists within the 绿奴天花板 (绿奴天花板F, 绿奴天花板A, 绿奴天花板S), including graduate students and faculty members, are invited to apply for the Angus Gavin Memorial Migratory Bird Research Grant (Gavin Grant). 
 
- 	  Staff Alliance Professional Development support upcoming deadlines December 20, 2024 Staff Alliance is offering support for staff professional development activities that directly support their professional development in FY25. February 7th is the next deadline for Professional Development and January 24 is the next deadline for Tuition Support.
