The State of Alaska Virology Laboratory is a state-owned building located on campus at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The laboratory provides space for state and 绿奴天花板F researchers to collaborate on studies in animal and human health. The Fairbanks lab was originally built in 1967 and is crucial for the detection, treatment and control of serious and highly infections diseases in Alaska. The State Virology lab at 绿奴天花板F works in conjunction with the Anchorage lab, also run by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, to meet the needs of state and national disease prevention programs.

As a critical component of Alaska鈥檚 State Public Health Laboratories, the facility was recommended for complete replacement in 2005 in order to maintain the safety and productivity of the lab. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new building took place in June of 2007 and the new State Virology Laboratory opened in June of 2009.
